If you follow the same steps in Windows 7, Explorer will *not* re-connect the network drives; It doesn't automatically re-establish a connection to the network like Windows XP. This is essentially a non-fix for me because we used GPO drive mappings specifically so we could stop using logon scripts. How do I answer a question on graduate school applications on textbooks used in my classes, when my class didn't use a textbook? how are you gonna charge people for a "professional" operating system, let alone charge them more than $20 for this garbage??

Doesn't it delete the mapping though when I log out? I shouldn't have to go through a basket of work arounds to fix a design flaw. We did figure that this is a change in the design /code that lead to the issue you are seeing .
